(Dec. 16, 2011)- New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck will reprise her role as the Sugar Plum Fairy with partner and Cavalier, Gonzalo Garcia, in Pacific Festival Ballet’s 18th season of “The Nutcracker” at the Kavli Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Show times are 2 and 7 p.m. Sat., and Sun., Dec. 17 and 18.
As is customary, snow will fall in the theater at the close of the first act.
The production will also feature guest artists from San Francisco Ballet and other companies.
Quinby Kasch, a 15-year-old originally from Camarillo, will dance the role of Clara at both Saturday shows.
Kasch has recently returned from New York after spending 15 months studying under Gelsey Kirkland, the classical program director for the Joffrey Ballet School, and at American Ballet Theatre, where she trained in their summer program.
Arielle Sperber, a 16-year-old junior honors student at Agoura High School, will perform Clara on Sunday. Sperber has been training at California Dance Theatre since 2006. Through audition, Sperber has been accepted to various summer programs such as the American Ballet Theatre and Joffrey New York. She has attended Boston Ballet, Santa Clarita Ballet and Sarasota Ballet.
California Dance Theatre is Pacific Festival Ballet’s official training school.
