Tropical Daze, a weekend-long summer music festival set for Saturday and Sunday, July
23 and 24 in Thousand Oaks, is seeking sponsors and arts and craft vendors. The two-day festival, now in its third year, is held at the Thousand Oaks Community Park (next to Thousand High School) on Moorpark Road.
Last year, 10,000 festival goers attended Tropical Daze.
“Attendance has been growing each year,” said Randy Strong, Tropical Daze co-organizer and a partner with Associate Marketers, a Conejo Valley marketing and promotions agency. “Nonprofit groups can use Tropical Daze as a fundraiser by hosting game and food booths.”
Sponsors already participating include presenting sponsors Conejo Recreation and Park District; the city of Thousand Oaks and the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce. Additional sponsors include Comerica Bank; Hollywood Storage Center of Thousand Oaks; Thousand Oaks Inn; Hobbs & Son; Conejo Valley Guide; ThousandOaksNightOut.com; Macaroni Kid; Trader Joe’s; Whole Foods and OaksParent.com.
“Tropical Daze primarily attracts families and couples of all ages. It’s a good opportunity for local businesses to reach an important segment of our community,” said Strong.
Proceeds from Tropical Daze are donated to Adopt-A-Future and FIRST 5/Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning (CV NfL, http://www.cvnfl.org). CV NfL helps children ages zero to five reach their highest potential through quality education and programs that encourage family involvement.
The festival features live surf, Hawaiian, Caribbean, Jamaican and Reggae music, a children’s activity area with hands-on science displays, children’s entertainment, educational games, arts and crafts and tropical birds. Admission is free.
