The Conejo Recreation and Park District is accepting applications for persons wishing to serve on the board of commissioners for the Goebel Senior Adult Center in Thousand Oaks. The Goebel Senior Center Commission is a nonprofit community service organization.
The Board of Commissioners is composed of 15 members, age 55 or older, who reside within District boundaries. Needed are individuals knowledgeable of the needs and interests of senior adults and community resources.
Commissioners volunteer their time and special skills, serve on Commission committees and assist in programs that benefit seniors. Regular public Commission meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. at the Goebel Senior Adult Center.
The terms of office for five members of the Commission expire at the end of June, 2011. Also, there are two additional partial-term vacancies.
During the month of March, the Commission will consider individuals who apply for appointment or reappointment to the Commission. Recommendations will then be made to the Conejo Recreation & Park District Board of Directors for final confirmation.
