Music for Heart Seeks Volunteers

The Music for Heart Foundation has grown tremendously since its inception in 2003. It was established by founders, Craig and Brenda Small, as their way of giving back and giving thanks for the successful open-heart surgery of their youngest daughter, Delaney Kate Small. The initial goal was to raise funds to save the lives of one or two under privileged children each year who were in need of life saving heart surgery.

In 2006, The Smalls joined the worldwide network of Rotary. Shortly, thereafter, the organization was invited to become one of the 66 worldwide affiliates of Gift of Life International. The program has grown rapidly and is proud to report that, over the past 6 years, 140 children from 5 different countries have received the gift of life through our program.

The current focus of the Music for Heart Foundation is the country of El Salvador.

Our goals in this beautiful yet impoverished country are:

1. To develop a sustainable pediatric cardio-thoracic surgical program
2. To continue to develop and support our humanitarian aid program ensuring that the children who receive life-saving heart surgery are truly given a second chance at life.
3. To continue to save the lives of the countless numbers of precious children afflicted with congenital heart disease before it is too late.

We are of the belief that every child deserves a chance to live.
