The City Council Candidate nomination period opens Monday, July 12, 2010 to fill three City Council seats. Candidates interested in running for office in the November 2, 2010 General Municipal Election must complete all required paperwork between July 12th and August 6th.
Nomination papers will be available at the City Clerk Department starting July 12th. To make an appointment, please call (805) 449-2151.
Candidates must be:
* Registered voters living in Thousand Oaks.
* Have their nomination papers signed by at least 20 people, but no more than 30 people.
* File papers disclosing investments and economic interests.
The nomination process is free, although candidates running for a seat on the City Council in the November 2010 election can opt to purchase a ballot statement of no more than 200 words for $1,000.00
